Welcome

Children’s church

During our 10am service on most Sundays children are invited to go out into the hall for part of the service. We call our meeting in the hall ‘Children’s Church’, starting with our own short service, with a song, prayers and a Bible story. Then we split into two groups. The younger group is for those not yet at school and Reception and Year One and Two children and they usually do a craft activity to match the Bible story or theme. The older group is for those in Year Three and above, and they also respond to the Bible story, perhaps with discussion, activities and prayer.
We ask parents to come into the hall with their child if the child is not yet at school or is in a Reception class. Those in Year One and above are welcome to come by themselves if they are comfortable to do so, but it’s fine for a parent or carer to come too.
Children are also welcome to stay in church if this is what they and their family prefer. The Children’s Worship Area is a space with toys, puzzles and books which families with young children are welcome to use.
Once a month we all stay in church together for the service. We call this service ‘Bread and Wine’ and it is shorter and more informal. We enjoy learning and praying together, and sharing communion as a church family together.
