Oxford Diocese has a great resource called the ‘Learning hub’ which contains study material which anyone can access. There are:
- Bitesize courses which take just a few hours to work through at your own pace
- ‘Going deeper’ courses which are take more time and can be done individually or as part of a group
- More specialised courses for people involved in particular aspects of ministry or mission.
Anyone with an email address can create a free account by going to https://oxford.learn.anglican.org and clicking on Create a free user account as seen in this screenshot.
Once you are registered, you can log in, as seen in the second screenshot, and access courses.
I would recommend that most people start with a Bitesize course as they are
shorter and will get you used to the format, but are still informative and thought provoking. If you fancy more of a challenge, then the ‘Going deeper’ courses might be more appropriate.
These are some of the courses available and each can be done at your own pace:
– Discovering the Beatitudes
– Called to Wonder
– Understanding Baptism – Story of Scripture
– The Way of Love – Five Marks of Mission
– The Creed
As this resource is for anyone, there is no obligation to let me know whether you have signed up, but if you’d be happy to let me know if you complete any (and how you found them), then I would love to hear about them. It’s definitely worth having a look and please do contact me if you have any questions. Happy learning! Kate
